exercise today

this is now going to be my exercise log, cos i will lose it on the computer, i trust blogger not to lose it

today i didn't go for a walk but i did for maybe 20 minutes play "street tennis" with david and mika which left me breathless, also got a lot of walking aon my easter egg hunt...keep going.....build a strong body and mind

Walk

Today I walked three laps. I am going to keep track of this online so Grams and Amy can keep me honest and ask if I haven't walked. Over time I will increase the number of laps and make some of it running.

In my personal life I am sick of people judging me. Blahhhhhh....That's why I walk.

Pump It UP

I know that this is showing as Wednesday's post, but it's actually late night Tuesday. As I described to a close friend earlier, today was awful in so many different ways that it doesn't deserve mentioning. There really wasn't a clear theme to today except that i have been taking weight lifting more seriously, and I am feeling good from it.

So today's theme is: lift weight now, so you lift other, more metaphorical weights out of your way later. I guess? I don't know. Lifting weights is just good cos it makes you feel good and it makes you stronger and healthier, and it doesn't leave you breathless.

Go out and pump up your day!

Change = Healing

Lately I have been better. I have changed a lot. And I am not sure how or why. It seemed to sneak up on me. I have heard that change can happen so slowly without you noticing that one day you'll see you've changed and didn't know that you had been.

I feel like a different person. A healthier person. But I think my problem always was and still somewhat is, is that I thoguht it was dangerous or even bad to become a different person. To dishonor what I was before. To scrap it and call it a waste. I guess I had this idea that I would be the same person as a toddler, as a kid, as a teen, as an adult, but that the person would evolve. But now I feel like at this stage in my life it's more than an evolution. It just feels like a much more distinct break. And I think it is good but I have lingering questions.

But regardless, I am feeling and doing well.

Reality is We All Want Love

FROM PRESIDENT BUSH’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS:
A strong America must also value the institution of marriage. I believe we should respect individuals as we take a principled stand for one of the most fundamental, enduring institutions of our civilisation. Congress has already taken a stand on this issue by passing the Defense of Marriage Act, signed in 1996 by President Clinton. That statute protects marriage under federal law as the union of a man and a woman, and declares that one state may not redefine marriage for other states.
Activist judges, however, have begun redefining marriage by court order, without regard for the will of the people and their elected representatives. On an issue of such great consequence, the people's voice must be heard. If judges insist on forcing their arbitrary will upon the people, the only alternative left to the people would be the constitutional process. Our nation must defend the sanctity of marriage.
The outcome of this debate is important, and so is the way we conduct it. The same moral tradition that defines marriage also teaches that each individual has dignity and value in God's sight.
MY RESPONSE:

The hope of a loving, lifetime relationship is a hope that I believe many people like me, now 22, have for themselves. And even though I grew up in a society where dentists prod young boys as I was with questions like, “So, you got a girlfriend yet?”, the hope is the same for princes who choose either a princess or prince. When you think of the meek, young, sensitive boys who grow up and don’t choose women to partner with, do you think of people attacking marriage? If our call is to protect marriage, the question is: whose marriage rights are being attacked? How are people who want to marry someone of the same sex attacking those who already have the right to marry someone of the opposite sex? Even if it were true that the will of the people is against the right of all to marry as they choose, regardless of the sex of their partner, whose will is it that matters? It is not my will that George Bush refuse to answer reporter’s questions during press conferences, but it is not my place to create regulation on how he expresses himself. If I were morally or ethically opposed to the idea of two men or two women marrying, I would hope and I believe that because of my other principles, I would still support their right to marry, as I support the right of people from opposite sexes to marry. I would hope that despite my beliefs on how I should live my life, I would let others live theirs according to their beliefs.

And my biggest hope for George Bush and those who I want to understand more fully the issue, is that they realize that the sex of the person one marries or relates to intimately is so terribly insignificant compared to everything else about that person. When George Bush talks about his wife Laura, he really does seem to sincerely relate to her. Is the most important thing about Laura Bush her sex? Or is it her smile? Her warm caring nature?

Is love by any other sex still not love?
